CA Foundation 2024 Course Eligibility:
The CA Foundation course is open to students who have completed their 12th examination from a recognized examining body in India or an examination recognized by the Central Government as equivalent. Students from all streams, including commerce, science, and arts, are eligible to apply for the CA Foundation exam.
Eligibility Criteria:
- 12th Examination: Candidates must have appeared for the 12th examination conducted by a recognized examining body in India or an examination recognized by the Central Government as equivalent.
- Graduates and Postgraduates: Graduates or postgraduates from any discipline who wish to pursue a career in chartered accountancy can also apply for the CA Foundation exam. They are exempt from the Foundation level and can directly register for the intermediate level through the ICAI CA Direct Entry Scheme.
Advantages for Different Streams:
- Commerce Stream: Commerce stream students may have an advantage due to their familiarity with accounting principles. However, students from other streams can apply with equal enthusiasm as they bring a different analytical approach to the exam.
- Science and Arts Stream: Students from the science and arts streams are eligible for the CA Foundation exam and can apply with the same enthusiasm. Their diverse backgrounds can bring a unique perspective to their approach in preparing for the exam.

CA Foundation Course 2024 Registration:
Important Dates:
- May Attempt: The last date to register for the CA Foundation course for the May attempt is 1st February 2024.
- December Attempt: If you miss the May registration, you can apply for the December exams until 1st August 2024.
Registration Process:
- ICAI opens CA Foundation registration twice a year, coinciding with the exam schedule in June and December.
- In 2024, the CA Foundation exams are scheduled for the 3rd and 4th week of June.
- Candidates aspiring to appear for the CA Foundation 2024 exams must register in February 2024 for the June exams and in August 2024 for the December exams.
Registration Method:
- Registration for the CA Foundation 2024 course can only be done online through the ICAI official website. There is no offline registration procedure.
- It is important to carefully fill in your basic details during registration, as any corrections after submission may incur additional fees.

Documents Required for CA Foundation Course Registration 2024:
- Passport-size photograph.
- 10th standard mark sheet and 12th Admit Card.
CA Foundation Course 2024 Registration Procedure:
- Visit the ICAI website and navigate to the student’s tab, then go to the course registration column.
- Click on the registration form and select “new user.”
- Fill in your details such as name, age, date of birth, gender, Aadhar card number, email id, phone number, and password.
- Verify your details with the OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
- Once verified, proceed to fill in the remaining details in your profile.
- Make the payment for registration fees and online foundation brochure fees. You can also opt for the student journal for updated news related to the CA Foundation syllabus. The total amount is approximately INR 9,800, excluding examination fees.
- Use a Master/Visa/Maestro Credit/Debit/Rupay/Net Banking card for online payment.
- After payment, you will receive a PDF file containing your details and registration number.
- Print the PDF file, paste the passport-size photograph if not attached online, and sign it.
- Attach the required documents along with the PDF file and send it to the regional office center within 7 days of registration.
- You will receive a registration certificate within a month after completing the procedure.

CA Foundation Registration Fees 2024:
The total fees for the Chartered Accountant Foundation course are approximately ₹10,700. This includes ₹9,000 as CA Foundation registration fees at the time of course registration and ₹1,500 at the time of registering for the examination.
The subscription charges for journals are optional, but it is recommended to register for them as they provide updates on the Chartered Accountant Foundation course and other study materials.
Students may also opt for CA Foundation online coaching to prepare for exams. The fees for such coaching institutes are approximately ₹60,000 for a year and may vary from institute to institute.

CA Foundation Registration Validity
Once you have registered for the CA Foundation course, your validity remains for 4 years. This means if you unfortunately fail to clear your CA Foundation exam on the first attempt, you have 7 more attempts. Revalidation is not permitted in the CA Foundation level.
CA Foundation Admit Card:
- Availability: Admit cards will be available on the official website of ICAI.
- Download: Candidates can download admit cards from the official website using their registration number and password.
CA Foundation Results:
- Release: ICAI will release the CA Foundation exam results within a month or two after the exams are conducted.
